Test your temperature release valve. We will discharge it 3-5 times, then keep an eye out for leaks in and around it. If it’s leaking, we’ll fix it.
Drain your water heater. We will drain ¼-⅓ of the tank to remove any sediment or other debris. We’ll turn off the water supply, then attach a hose to the drain valve. Then we will open the valve and let water drain out until it is clear. If it continues to be cloudy, we will fill the tank with clean water and drain it until it’s not.
Maintain clearance. Most water heaters need 2 feet of clearance on all sides unless otherwise indicated in your owner’s manual.
